Die Europäische Kommission hat am 16. April 2025 den Jahresbericht über "Safety Gate", das europäische Schnellwarnsystem für Produktsicherheit, vorgestellt.
Safety Gateway: Verbraucherinnen und Verbrauchern
Das Consumer Safety Gateway ermöglicht es Verbraucherinnen und Verbrauchern, Produkte, die online oder offline auf dem EU-Binnenmarkt (EU-Mitgliedstaaten sowie Island, Norwegen und Liechtenstein) gekauft wurden, zu melden, wenn sie gefährlich sind und möglicherweise Unfälle oder Verletzungen von Menschen verursacht haben, obwohl sie unter normalen vorhersehbaren Bedingungen verwendet wurden. Die Unfallmeldungen werden an die zuständige Behörde übermittelt. Die nationalen Behörden können die über das Consumer Safety Gateway übermittelten Informationen nutzen, um eine Warnmeldung zur Weiterleitung an alle nationalen Behörden des Binnenmarkts zu übermitteln. Bitte beachten Sie, dass dieses Instrument dazu dient, Unfälle im Zusammenhang mit Non-Food-Erzeugnissen zu melden, und dass Arzneimittel und medizinische Produkte ausgeschlossen sind. Safety Business Gateway
Safety Business Gateway (zur Meldung gefährlicher Produkte an die zuständigen Behörden in den Mitgliedstaaten)
The Safety Business Gateway enables businesses to report dangerous products and accidents to the market surveillance authorities of the Member States.
The General Product Safety Regulation makes it compulsory for businesses to use the Safety Business Gateway for the purpose of the above notification obligation.
National authorities may use the information submitted on the Safety Business Gateway to create an alert in the Safety Gate Rapid Alert System. A summary of that information will then also be published on the Safety Gate public portal (https://ec.europa.eu/safety-gate).
The submission of notifications through the Safety Business Gateway is reserved for the economic operators and providers of online marketplaces concerned by the notified product. Submission of such notifications by third parties is strictly prohibited.
In case a dangerous product is already sold, economic operators have to take the necessary measures, including its recall, when necessary, while providers of online marketplaces shall notify all affected consumers of the product safety recall and publish information on such recalls on their online interfaces.
In order to inform consumers about a product safety recall, economic operators have to prepare a recall notice containing all the mandatory elements listed in the GPSR. A recommended template is provided (Safety Gate: the EU rapid alert system for dangerous non-food products).
